HAMBURGER PHONE

SO! Guess what I saw yesterday in Tours (pronounced Tour.... just in case you ever end up needing directions to Tours....) ....

Yep, that’s right (damn, the title gave it away....) A HAMBURGER PHONE!

As in Juno, as in one of my favorite movies!

Juno sparks online hamburger phone sales like Napoleon Dynamite sparked Vote for Pedro t-shirt sales

This phone is like my life complete! (In the form of a telephone).

This phone is EPIC.

(In case you're wondering, I was in Tours with my host-sister and her best friend... We walked a lot and saw the cathédrale (French word.... I'm not sure how to spell it)! Yeah, wow, it's pretty amazing.... BUT not nearly as amazing as a HAMBURGER PHONE!) xD

(As was the shop!

And when I find out the name + if it has an English section for all you AUSSIE readers, then I’ll put that link up!)

Chambord

So today I did a lot of things.

a) I vistited Chambord Château

b) I bought exactly three post cards and met a nice guy who asked where I was from. (School will be getting postcard soon... someone email the address *rather pointed look at mum*)

c) Went to the supermarket (I love supermarkets almost as much as châteaus!)

At said supermarket which I love, I bought the following:

- TEA!! (yes, I found normal English breakfast (at least I think it is...) amongst herbals! GO ME is all I can say!)
- Chocolate (French chocolate is nommy at the very least)
- One thing of French bonbons (it is now a life mission to get to know the lolly aisle VERY WELL... like on a more than first name basis... on random nicknames and best friend basis)
- Batteries (please not: MY CALCULATOR STILL WON’T WORK!! need help PLEASE!)
- muesli bars

But first of all!!

CHAMBORD!!!

This place is so nice! I wish I was the only one there and I could imagine up my adventures in peace/pick open locked doors!

There was a very large amount of people, which disappointed me. I mean, I loved all the English accent (*melltttsss*), but THERE WAS SO MANY PEOPLE. Maybe it’s just my upbringing of visiting empty, large places (not saying this place was small, though). Yeah, I can’t get over the amount of people.

ANNND most of them used the dreaded FLASH on Pretty Old Things! What’s up with that?? That’s practically illegal (as far as I’m concerned) in Australia and I honestly thought the French would have been far more careful about their Pretty Old Things.

The bed spread things clashed....

:/

heh heh

Then there was the room for The Children. The poor kids were treated like little adults from the moment they were outside. They even had little busts of themselves in their desks. LITTLE BUSTS. What a life. To be treated well and fed well, but to never have a childhood or be really loved by anyone, but your Nursemaid. That is, if said Nursemaid loved you.

None of the guys in the paintings were very hot, so I can’t daydream about handsome, rich French kings, sadly. Or the stories and scandals that go with them! But a lot of the females were pretty good looking. Maybe it’s just a put-on, like this one was (the painter went against orders! *gasps* OFF WITH HIS HEAD!... and paint those bloody white roses RED!). At least SHE didn’t die. Or get beheaded. Or whatever. She was just The Kings Beloved Sister from then on.

What.

A.

Life.

All the paintings of the men were fat, ugly and with several chins. *Sigh*.

One painting made me giggle a fair bit. The subject evidently did not want to be there and for some reason, she was painted looking like she’d walked into the men’s change room by accident. Just without the blush. Maybe the painter didn’t like her...

The foorline is amazing!! I giggled at the thought of the architects trying to draw it xD

Seriously, CAN you imagine trying to capture that on paper??

So yes, I had a ball.

I promise to post more pictures soon, just of Chambord and ALSO (you lucky duckies) more of my photo essay, once I have more time to edit them.

I love you!

xx

My Favorite Words (and updates on stuff)

In France, i've been listening to the way words are pronounced. And then I thought about my favorite words. And I narrowed it down to THREE. I just love the way they're pronouced, if they're a 'mouthful' like wool or easy like brightness.

Bombora-

I love how it looks so easy to say, but when you really really listen, it's so complex. Bom-Bor-ra. Sort of like it gets even more powerful as you speak it and that makes you feel proud. It sounds exactly like it looks. It's like the word rolls out of your mouth like a wave.

(PS this photo is not fact. A bombora is a (often big) wave on a off shore reef)

Puddle-

How can you not love the word 'puddle'?
PUDDLE! puddle. Puddle. PUDDLE. puddle. PUDDLE
It sort of stays the same whatever you throw at it. And it's so simple!! And I loooove jumping in puddles (wearing gumboots though.... Yes, yes, I know I'm a total weakling of a puddle jumper!!)

And anyway, puddle is a very happy sounding word, so I like it.

(PS my Anglais teacher did not know what a puddle was.... Thankfully it was raining so I could show her)

Gondwanaland-

Epic words. It makes me think big and I like how it's such a mouthful to get out and it changes the shape of your mouth. Gotta love a big, massive sientific word like that!

(And PS.... we should totally do that, just so I can say a) Gondwanaland more often that comes up ni a normal conversation.... we don't say Gondwanaland enough for my liking!! and b) I live in Gondwanaland.... cos it sounds kinda like I live with dinosours... and it sounds epic)

~~

This morning I thought about killing my iPod so my alarm would shut up and then I could sleep.... buuut i didn't and I caught the bus and I..... Ohhhh stairs are slippery in socks!! I have a bruise on my right thigh :(

now what was I on about?

um.

let's continue.

So I'm busily writing and pretending to be creative!:)

Writing A LOT of fanfiction and various things of my own ! Trying to see if I can have less talk, more thought. It's a challenge. But a good challenge.

Holidays start today, but strikes but a big hole in let's seeeeeee everything!! time. So. I'll just have to flounce off to castles another time! All I have is a mile long to-do list. :/

I had an INGENEOUS idea to tie on my locker key (via rainbow laces) to by belt loop. I am so smug :D

ummm..

Buhbye for now, my loves!

xx

you know I love you!

That's Me!!

I'm the sort of person who would rob your garden if you had prettiful flowers just SITTING there.

:)

To be honest, today I sort of did xD

When asked why?

'Well, they have at least 10 more roses. They won't miss one' .... being stuck into the bun of a random teenaged girl and paraded around like it's the melbourne cup.

My flower could beat that any day, bi-atch.

MPS film reveiw!!!

Just a little warning!

I'm typing this word for word to what I wrote yesterday. So sorry if none of it makes sense at all.

~~

Okay, this shit is trippy.

Not only do I not understand any of it (it's all in french about high-tech maths) but they keep parading pretty shapes and colours across the screen, no doubt explaing what they are. But for me, all I see is pretty colours and shapes and my tired brain is saying 'Ohhhh let's touch that! Mmm purple,' and so on. Literally.

It's surprising I'm not running from the room, screaming either 'STOP SHOWING ME PRETTY THINGS!' or 'WHY ARE YOU ENCOURGING DRUGS??!!'

Now let me quote entertaining things from the handbook I was given (it has an english translation):

'Using complex numbers, he constructs pretty patterns in space'.

Aye, my friends.

Aye.

~~

Example of how tired I am:

I am tired. Did I mention that?

And when I'm tired, I swear like a sailor. (Not a retiree with a boat. A SAILOR THAT SWEARS!).

It's all I cn do not to slip in any naughty words.

I am tired

As I pen (OMG EDGAR ALLAN POE MUCH??!!? <3) the handwritten copy, I am (was) sitting in SVT(like Biology and Astronomy, without the stars) while everyone else had to do a test! ha! I like changing classes!

Blah, I'm tired.

(baby friendly. that's just right for me. I need a lot more naps that babies. Actually, all teens do. but me especially!)

A bone-weary-my-eyes-are-sore-deep-jet-lagged-permanantly sort of tired.

I blame it on the following:

a) two 10 hour days.

b) 2x8 hour days (one week a)

c) 1x9 hour day (week b on friday... TOMORROW!!!)

d) The permanent learning of French. I even dream in my little french.

e)The fact I still haven't got used to having a big meal in the middle of the day. I've lost 3kg in a month, which is a big drop for stable-weighted me. I've been 67kg for two years, after all.

f) because I ahven't really got a voice to express myself with, I've been writing my little bottom off. Until all insane hours (ie 10pm).

g) I'm dragged out on social outings a lot. Shopping is a serious sport for the French. You have no idea how many people the average Tours clothing shop can fit on Saturday afternoon. A lot. Yeah. A LOT.

h) Waking up at 9.30am (AM!! and on a saturday, too!) to lovingly skype my family.

As I wrote in SVT, i should seriously sleep. (But I'm in the front row. It might be rude...)

Whatever, I'm tired.

SLEEP! here I come.

And you know what? I actually slept.
